Weeks Bay Nature Trail
Educational trail through an estuarine research area
Description:
Estuaries are characterized by diverse plant and animal life, and the Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is no exception.
The combination boardwalk and dirt-path nature trail has signs that identify various plants and animals along the way, including alligators and turtles. A miniature zoo is located near the beginning of the trail, and houses fish, crabs, and an alligator.
The trail is flat and easily walked, so kids can enjoy the hike too.
