Easy hiking trail to the Great Stone Door in South Cumberland State Recreation Area
Description:
The trail begins at the Stone Door Ranger Station. It leads past Laurel Gorge Overlook at 0.2 mile, then crosses a few creeks before its junction with Big Creek Rim Trail and Big Creek Gulf Trail. Hiking 0.1 mile on Big Creek Gulf Trail leads directly to the 10-foot-wide and 100-foot-tall crevice known as the Stone Door, a total of one mile from the trailhead.
