Rim of the Gap Trail
Difficult hike from Caesars Head State Park to Jones Gap State Park
Description:
The beginning of the trail is located about a mile east of Caesars Head State Park, reached via Frank Coggins Trail, which intersects Rim of the Gap trail just past Cliff Falls. There are several cable crossings along Rim of the Gap Trail; be sure to make use of the cables as hikers have fallen from the bridges in the past. The sights along the trail are absolutely stunning; from various perspectives of Cliff Falls to interesting rock formations to views of Jones Gap (the best view of Jones Gap is from a 20-foot-long spur trail from a switchback about 2.3 miles into the hike).
