Lake Russell Trail
A trail that winds around a stream and its namesake lake
Description:
This hiking trail is a loop that begins by crossing the spillway just below the dam. Concrete steps make the crossing easier, but beware the one gap if the water level is high.
After the crossing, the trail runs along the bank of Nancy Town Creek until it crosses the stream and turns to Lake Russell Dam. After crossing over the dam, hikers are directed down to the floodplain below the dam, then across a bridge over Nancy Town Creek, shortly thereafter arriving at the lake. After winding around the lake for a bit, the trail turns away to a gravel road that finishes the loop.
