Pine Beach Trail

Walk through a national wildlife refuge to the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico

Pine Beach Trail is the longest trail in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. The over 500 species of animals and birds that call the refuge home allow for some amazing photo ops, especially when the path crosses a marshy area between Little Lagoon and Gator Lake where alligators can be seen (sometimes they are hard to find, but be patient, they are out there). The loggerhead sea turtle also makes nighttime visits to the refuge from May to September.

The trail itself is flat and easy to hike; although it is an in-and-out style path, there is a small loop on the dunes for hikers to turn around.
