Wildlife Drive
Driving tour of Eufala National Wildlife Refuge
Description:
This area is home to many birds, and bird observation decks are located along the trail, some with binoculars mounted on them. Although the trail is classified as a driving tour, the best way to see the abundance of wildlife the trail has to offer is to hike it. If you choose to walk the trail during the summer, be sure to bring insect repellent.
During the fall and winter the 7-mile trail is shortened to 5 miles to protect the peace of the birds as they rest before their northward flight home. Other parts of the trail are closed during the fall for hunting. The main office should be contacted for specific dates at (334) 687-4065.
