Rabun Bald Trail
Georgia's second highest mountain
Description:
This trail in North Georgia starts out at around 2,500 feet and ends at the summit of Rabun Bald, at 4,696 feet.
The trail ascends steeply to a set of switchbacks that lead further up the mountain.
Around 1.5 miles into the hike the trail crosses a small stream. Then it enters an area of boulders and comes out to a flat area where campers can setup for the night.
The last .4 miles is very steep, ascending about 450 feet to the top. There is a viewing platform on top offering nice 360 degree views.
